Welcome to Café Ami, a delightful coffee nook nestled within the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health in Vancouver. This charming café is not just a spot for caffeine; it’s a gathering place for those seeking a cozy atmosphere paired with delectable treats that can brighten any day.

Café Ami boasts an impressive selection of pastries and sandwiches, making it an alluring destination for anyone craving a comforting bite. As Lister Chen highlights, the options are plentiful and hard to choose from. One standout is the moist and flavorful carrot cake, large enough to satisfy even the most discerning sweet tooth—a perfect way to indulge during a midday break.

Upon entering, you will find a welcoming ambiance that feels less clinical compared to other cafes in healthcare settings, according to Ada’s observations. With cozy lighting and thoughtful decor, it serves as a wonderful escape from the bustling halls of the center. While the prices may lean on the higher side, the tempting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the rich, creamy taste of their signature cream cheese brownies bring patrons back time and again. With each bite, you’ll taste the care that goes into every item offered—Jacques Torres would be envious!

For those who prioritize quality coffee, Café Ami does not disappoint. Jeff Downer raves about their drip coffee, noting it as the best on campus. This pure, strong black coffee proves to be a perfect pick-me-up for students and professionals alike, further affirming that great taste does not need to be complex. While some menu items can come across as mass-produced, the coffee stands out as a true gem in this bustling location.

From soups and sandwiches to smoothies, there’s something for everyone, though, as Nat pointed out, the soup rotation might keep your tastebuds guessing! You might discover something new each time you visit, but don’t miss out on a taste of their popular salmon chowder when it’s available—just be sure to savor the experience while it's there.

Café Ami is more than just a café; it’s a community space where the joys of good food and coffee create delightful corners for conversation and reflection. The friendly and timely service, noted by Dana Sullivan, ensures that whether you're simply stopping by for a quick coffee or lingering over a meal, you’ll feel valued and well taken care of.

Next time you’re in the area, take a moment to unwind at Café Ami, indulge in a heavenly treat, and elevate your day with a cup of their inviting coffee. Your taste buds will thank you!

Has wonderful selection of pastries and sandwiches. Hard to choose. Ended up with carrot cake which was big, moist and flavourful. Will come again to try others

Similar to the Cafe Ami at VGH, but I think this location is cozier and with less glaring "surgical" bright lights than VGH. Prices are high for what the items are, but the prime location is what brings me back (along with those sinfully delicious cream cheese brownies).

The best drip coffee (black) on campus. I was surprised! I will start to go here on the daily for drip coffee (the only type of coffee I drink). Now I didn’t order any food because it looks very factory-mass produced like Starbucks, and that isn’t how I eat. But their drip coffee is good and strong!

Consistently satisfactory. The selection gets a little slim on weekends but they usually have a pretty decent food selection on weekdays. Some of the sandwiches are pretty good. I have always found the service to be friendly and timely. The place is very clean and it tends to be relatively quiet even when it’s busier.

The salmon chowder was good, but since the soups are on rotation, I can't guarantee it'll ever come back. The sausage roll would be a lot better if it was toasted and not microwaved. The London Fog was good. Smoothies are really expensive so I haven't tried it despite being interested. Overall, everything is pretty okay.
